Warsaw, 27th of November 2008 – Air Italy Polska was granted a title of the Polish charter carrier of the year 2008, an award granted by Górnośląskie Towarzystwo Lotnicze, the company managing the airport Katowice-Pyrzowice.

Air Italy Polska was given the award as the airline which carried out the biggest number of charter flights from airport Katowice-Pyrzowice this year. „We’re very glad from this award, especially that one year has just passed since we carried our first flight. We’re trying to respond to the demands
of our passengers as best as possible – in the summer season we were the only airline carrying out charter connections to Cuba” – said the president of Air Italy Polska Mariusz Szpikowski.
 
„We appreciate as well the importance of the regional Polish airports” – stressed Szpikowski. „We’re considering positioning of one of our aircraft in the summer season 2009 in Katowice, if only the economic considerations will allow it” – he added.

The ceremony of presenting the award took place on Friday, 21st of November in Katowice.

In the winter season Air Italy Polska operates from Warsaw to five destinations – Bangkok, Cancun, Varadero, Fortaleza and Goa-Colombo.
